Macedonian Christmas Gathering
December 30th 2017

30th December 2017, a glorious sunny day, hosted the first gathering of the Macedonian Cultural Society in New Zealand (MCSNZ). Many of us attended with our loved ones to celebrate this very special day for the Macedonian families in New Zealand. Our hearts were trembling while we were singing and dancing oro to the sounds of "Makedonsko Devojce", "Lihnida", "Sonce za tri svetovi" and other popular macedonian tunes played live on the stage. The Macedonian Oro did not stop. It was heartstopping to see the Macedonian flag next to the New Zealand flag. Everyone brought a plate of mouthwatering Macedonian delicacies which we all enjoyed. Not even Santa could resist this event. He made sure he stopped by to surprise our younger ones with a special something for Christmas.

All those present at the gathering had a very special task - to choose the official logo of the MCSNZ by voting. The Grand Finale of the party was the announcement of the Official Logo of MCSNZ accompanied by cool macedonian music directly from the stand of DJ Dan. At the very end we all danced to songs from our non-Macedonian spouses culture, to hounor their support and to acknowledge their welcoming to our club.

There were endless comments on our impressively organised, very enjoyable event and huge support for more events like this to be organised in the future.

Traditional Table Tenis Tournament
​January 14th 2018​

A big thanks to all the participants and supporters at the Traditional Tournament in Table Tennis of the Macedonian Cultural Society in New Zealand (MCSNZ)!

The winner is Nikola Velkovski, who also won in the previous tournament. Nikola defended his Champion title against Ace Janevski with 2:0 in sets (23:21 and 23:21). In the match for the third place Sasho Tasevski won against Dragan Velkovski 2:0.

It was a great sports event, very enjoyable for everyone! 

Credits to Aleksandra Stojanovik, the only lady in this tournament! We hope her efforts will inspire more ladies to take part in the next sports events.

Finally, a big thanks to everyone who helped with the organisation of the event and made this day enjoyable for everyone.

Macedonian Tenis Tournament
​February 6th 2018​

What a beautiful day at the First Official Macedonian Tennis Tournament in New Zealand. A history was made today!

There were 13 competitors including 2 ladies.

Our first official champion is Todor Markov who played Vane Trajkov in the final with final result 2:0. Third equal were Gjurgjica Badzakova Trajkov and Zoran Markov.

It was a very enjoyable sports and social event for the contestants and the audience, very well organised by the MCSNZ.

A big thanks to Vane Trajkov for the technical organisation and planning, because of his skills and professional approach the tournament ran very smoothly and efficiently at all times. 

Thanks to all the participants in this event and their cobtribution in making the day and the tournament great. 

The MCSNZ will endevour to make the Macedonian Grand Slam an annual event and appreciates all the support that all of you can contribute with to make events like this possible in order to bring us all together.

We encourage everyone who wishes to participate in the events and the organisation of any events to apporoach us with anything they can contribute with so we can make it happen together!!

Pre-Easter Party
March 20th 2018​

We gathered once again, this time to celebrate the greatest Orthodox Day, Easter. Wonderful delicacies for the eyes and the taste buds on the buffet display. The culinary skill amongst us is amazing! The guests were welcomed at the door in a proper traditional Macedonian way, with bread, salt and homemade Rakia. The children entertained themselves in the well fenced play park while their parents had a chance to catch up with friends. The weather could not get any better for the Easter Chocolate Eggs Hunt. There were a lot of happy faces. The Macedonian tunes played by DJ Dan touched all of our hearts while Macedonian Oro was being danced non stop...

There were many participants in the Easter Quiz. It was nice to see so many of us, especially the young ones, familiar with our Macedonian Tradition. No one could resist the  Guess-How-Many-Chocolate-Eggs-In-The-Jar challenge, but there could be only one winner. Congratulations to Packa who won a jarful of chocolate eggs to share with her beautiful family. We hope you really enjoy them Packa!

The Kids Corner impressed us all with their Easter creations while their parents could get a bite and dance a bit of oro.

We really hope you all enjoyed the party and had as much fun as we did! A big THANK YOU to all of you who came and contributed for this beautiful day to happen!
